The Penfeld harbour is usually out of bounds to civilians as it is part of the military zone. During the Brest 2008 event, both the water and the quays were open, with two big ships moored: the Mircea (left) and the Cisne Branco (right).

Mircea is a 3-masted barque, built in 1938 in Hamburg for the Romanian navy. She displayed a grand pavois with its signal flags neatly sorted by colours.
